-From about 1995-1998 Phil Wade and Mike Slusher jammed together in random locations. They both studied guitar under the phenomenal jazz guitarist Cyrus Pace and grew to be friends.
-Phillip and Mike met Jake Dempsey at their high school and heard that he was one of the best bass players around.In 1997, Phillip jammed with Jake in his basement one time. -In August of 1998 Phil and Mike started writing jams in their two bedroom apartment at Virginia Tech. - On a weekend trip home, Phillip was told about Adam Clark through a mutual friend. -Mike, Adam, and Phil got together on December 6, 1998 in Adam's Garage (now known as the Laboratory) and made a tape of the jam. It was a success. The next step was simple...call Jake Dempsey! - They did and on December 29th, two days before New Year's, they made the first recording with Jake in the Lab to more rave reviews. The creative juices have been flowing ever since. - They finally decided on the name Rhesus which is a type of monkey that the government does experiments on.
